How to Play

The goal

Every puzzle hides a set of words inside a grid of letter tiles. Your job is to find all of them and clear every tile. There is only one daily attempt, so take your time — or race the clock if you are chasing the leaderboard.

Daily 4×4

• Sixteen tiles arranged in a 4×4 square.
• Words are formed by connecting touching tiles — up, down, left, or right.
• Each tile can only be used once per word.
• Clear the entire grid to win.
• Your score is based on time and moves: fewer moves and a faster time rank higher.

Themed 5×5

A larger 5×5 board built around a single theme. The words all relate to that theme, which is revealed at the start. The same rules apply, but the board is bigger and the words are longer on average.

Speed Streak

Unlock Speed Streak by clearing the daily grid in under 60 seconds. After that, each grid must be solved in under 30 seconds to keep the streak alive. It is a separate challenge from the daily leaderboard and is all about consistency under pressure.

Challenge mode

Challenge a friend to the same random grid in real time. Both players race on identical boards, and the first to clear their grid wins. Challenge games do not affect your daily or leaderboard stats.

Controls & tools

• Select / submit: tap or drag across tiles, then tap the submit button or release to confirm.
• Undo: step back through your moves without penalty.
• Compact: a free move that pulls tiles together after a clear, making the remaining letters easier to reach.
• Hint: reveals a riddle for the longest word. Adds 15 seconds to your time, but only once per puzzle.
• Give Up: ends the attempt and records a loss.

Scoring

Leaderboards rank by time first, then moves. Beating the optimal move count for a day earns you a spot on the Optimizers tab. Hints are allowed, but they add time and are shown on the board.

Worked example

Imagine a small grid where the word CAT is hidden. You tap C, then the adjacent A, then the T below it, and submit. Those three tiles disappear. The remaining tiles shift, and you look for the next word. In Flux Grid, the same idea scales up to longer words and interlocking paths.
