    Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about Flux Grid puzzles, scoring, leaderboard, and accounts.

When does the daily puzzle reset?

Puzzles reset at midnight UTC every day. We use UTC for the date key so players around the world see the same puzzle on the same calendar day.

    Why was my word rejected?

Flux Grid validates words against the ENABLE dictionary. Proper nouns, abbreviations, and very obscure variants are usually not accepted. Only the hidden solution words will clear the board.

How does the hint penalty work?

Using a hint adds 15 seconds to your final time. The penalty is applied only once per puzzle, even if you open the hint multiple times.

    How are leaderboard ties broken?

The daily leaderboard sorts by time first, then by moves used. If both are identical, the earlier submission wins.

What is the optimal move count?

Each puzzle has a target number of moves based on its solution words. Beating that count lands you on the Optimizers tab.

    Can I play old puzzles?

Yes. Visit the puzzle archive to see past daily and themed boards, their solution words, and optimal move counts. Today's answers are hidden until tomorrow.

    What is Speed Streak?

Clear the daily grid in under 60 seconds to unlock Speed Streak. After that, keep clearing grids in under 30 seconds to extend your streak.

Does Challenge mode affect my stats?

No. Challenge mode is a separate 1v1 race on a random grid. It does not change your daily time, streak, or leaderboard position.

    Do I need an account?

No. You can play, track your streak, and save scores to the leaderboard without signing up. We store progress locally in your browser.

    Is there a mobile app?

Flux Grid works as a web app on iOS and Android. We also provide a Capacitor wrapper for building native iOS and Android apps from the same codebase.

    What data do you collect?

We collect anonymous gameplay analytics and optional leaderboard names. See the Privacy Policy for full details.
